sea wolf – YES!
yep.. sea wolf seems to be first confirmation of the season.. a great get for the billiken club.. will be an amazing show .. friday 10/2
Richard Buckner is coming!! There’s nothing on your site about getting tickets…what gives
The Billiken is free to the public, no tickets are distributed. Everything operates on a first come first serve basis at the door, so if you think the show might hit capacity, show up a bit early.
ALL SHOWS ARE FREE??
If Sea Wolf has confirmed, then please indicate so on Facebook. I can’t wait for the full line-up.
Mirah?! Yay!
el ten eleven! hooray!
MIRAH?! I promise i will name my first-born after the Billiken club. this is AMAZING.
Please try to get no age at some point during the year!!! pleaseee!
Agreed, pleeasssee try to get No Age. That would be awesome
You’re too late. The Gargoyle already hosted No Age last winter.
You should invite Science Hill, a local band from St. Louis, to play. They would work wonders in that space. http://www.myspace.com/sciencehillmusic
FREE!?!? How do you keep all the rif-raf out?
You should get Birds of Avalon, they’ll be in the midwest in mid October
I would really like no age to be added to the calender as well. They are one of my favorite bands.
Any word on booking Black Joe Lewis and the Honeycombs??
…and you will know us by the tral of dead has an open date sept 27th between shows in Madison and KC – please try to book them!
I meant trail of dead
If you guys could get the dirty projectors, I would absolutely freak out.
You guys should bring David Bazan back. He’s going on a full band tour and since he’s made like three stops here for his acoustic shows..it only seems fitting to bring him back for round four. Dirty Projectors would be sweet. If This Town Needs Guns ever tours the US, please book them. They are incredible.
I will be there on November 9th. The new Nurses record “Apple’s Acre” is incredible.
I have some booking suggestions.
Simian mobile Disco – 11/05
YACHT has some potential dates after a festival in Urbana
Dan Deacon – halloween
Dan Deacon would be so sick, especially on halloween
El Ten Eleven…can’t wait for this act. How do you select and schedule them?
Thanks so much for the Maserati show – they absolutely rocked!!!
some nice adds would be:
throw me the statue
someone still loves you boris yeltsin (repeat, they got screwed over by the snow and ice last year)
amanda blank
You need to book the band called Girls. They got a ‘Best New Music’ rating over at Pitchfork with their new album.
Seriously. Try to book them for a December show!!
The very best
dj rupture
neon Indian
I SUPER SECOND NATHAN.
so do not do hip-hop? havent seen a rapper in the last 4 years….
thanks for booking all these free shows. it’s great.
to the peanut gallery: THESE SHOWS ARE FREE. stop bitching that they haven’t booked the newest shitty pitchfork buzz band. start your own free show venue.
I don’t know if this was targeted at me or someone else, but I am very grateful that they have these shows. I have been to many over the years and appreciate the oppurtunity to see a lot of really cool shows for free. I was just making a few suggestions that I thought a lot of people would enjoy and also would draw a lot of people.
You should continue booking boring cookie cutter hipster indie cool-for-a-second crap. It’s awesome to show up to a place where everybody can just be themselves as long as they are like no one else and listen to boring lo-fi crap they don’t even listen to because they are secretly listening to Death Cab constantly when they are in the car alone.
Japandroids, Mirah, and Nurses? Great job guys!
Aw, Scott, did some indie girl break your heart and make fun of your musical taste?
Nope, I would never date an indie girl because they are all horribly dressed, stuck up, and pretentious about the music they like. It’s funny how the indie community is pretentious about music that everybody likes. Guess what, I was down on the landing a week ago and they played MGMT and everyone there knew the song. I feel like there is some kind of subliminal message in this music that takes control of peoples mind the second they step foot in college. A college student will go loving Propaghandi to loving No Age in a matter of days and pretend they had never heard of Fat Wreck Chords in their life. And no, I can’t completely attack the indie genre. I have held on to my Shellac records after all of these years.
ohh music, music, music global language of insanes.
thanks.
You need to book the band called Girls. They got a ‘Best New Music’ rating over at Pitchfork with their new album.
Thanks
Girls was already in town with Los Campesinos! like a month ago.
How was Sea Wolf?
So sad that I missed them…
But instead of being all agressive and dominating like the precious, it says something about one love to bind us and etwine us, you know, something mushy. ,
Vroom … the red Sea Wolf!
Japandroids!! Pretty cool…
i’ve been goin home to Chicago for shows, finally somethin good in STL
Are there ever going to be more shows added? It seems like there is nothing left to look forward to at The Biliken Club the rest of first semester…
What happened to Nurses? Are they not coming anymore?!?
What the hell? What happened to Nurses!?
To answer the questions surrounding the Nurses date:
Unfortunately, due to illness and the rough touring climate, Nurses had to drop off of the bill.
We are currently re-formatting the lineup for this date, stay tuned over the next few weeks for further info.
Hope to see you all at El Ten Eleven and Japandroids!
What happened to Nurses!?
Sorry, I’m dumb and didn’t read any of the comments before I sent that! NEVERMIND!
well that is very, very disappointing.
Great job on putting this together!
